Birmingham Marathon on Sunday 1st May 2022

On Sunday 1st May 2022 between 4am and 7.30pm there will be some diversions on services due to the Birmingham Marathon taking place.

Affected services

  • 1 - From 6am until 3.30pm this service will be diverted between Moseley Village and Five Ways using the Alcester Road and Belgrave Middleway. Salisbury Road, Edgbaston Road and Priory Road will not be served during this time. Customers at Five Way should use the usual stop on Calthorpe Road.
  • 2, 3, 4/4A, 5 & 6 - From 7am until approximately 4.30pm these services will stop at Bradford Street. Moor Street Queensway, Park Street and Moat Lane will not be served during this time. Customers heading out of Birmingham should use stop DS7 on Rea Street.
  • 8A/8C - From the start of service until approximately 4.30pm these services will be diverted along the underpass at Belgrave Interchange. Longmore Street, Barrow Walk and Spring Street will not be served during this time.
  • 11A/11C - These services may experience delays due to congestion around Kings Heath, Cotteridge and Selly Oak. 
  • 14 - From 4am until 7pm the 14 will not serve Jennens Road into or out of Birmingham. Between 4am and 5pm buses will unload  in Newton Street and depart via Corporation Street.
  • 16 - From 7am until approximately 4.30pm this service will stop at Priory Queensway, near Steelhouse Lane. Moor Street Queensway, Station Street and Upper Dean Street will not be served during this time. Customers heading out of Birmingham should use stop SH10 near Old Square.
  • 17 - From 7am until approximately 4.30pm this service will be diverted via Bordesley Middleway, Aston Lane and Newton Street. Buses will load and unload in Newton Street and depart via Corporation Street.
  • 23/24 - From the start of service until approximately 4.30pm these services will be diverted from Holloway Head using Queensway Tunnels and stop on Colmore Row. Smallbrook Queensway, Moor Street Queensway and Corporation Street will not be served during this time. Customers heading out of Birmingham should use stop SH1 on Colmore Row. 
  • 27 - From the start of service until approximately 4pm this service will be diverted between Kings Heath and Bournville. Buses will run via Fordhouse Lane, Pershore Road and Linden Road. Dads Lane, Pineapple Road, Pershore Road and Bournville Lane will not be served during this time. 
  • 33, 51, 907, 934, 935, 937A, 997, X3/X4/X5, X14 & X15 - From 7am until approximately 4.30pm these services will be diverted via St Chads and Colmore Circus, stopping at SH8 on Colmore Circus (near Lloyd House). Stops CS1 and CS2 on Corporation Street will be served as normal. James Watt Queensway, Moor Street Queensway and Lower Bull Street will not be served during this time. 
  • 35 - From 6am until approximately 4.30pm this service will be diverted between Moseley Village and Birmingham. The service will run via Alcester Road, Ring Road, Bath Row, Smallbrook Queensway and stopping at Station Street. 
  • 41 - From 6am until 3.30pm this service will divert between Moseley Village and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Buses will run along Alcester Road, Belgrave Middleway, Wheeleys Road and Edgbaston Park Road. Salisbury Road, Edgbaston Road, Priory Road and Bristol Road will not be served during this time. 
  • 45/47 - From 4am until 4.30pm these services will be diverted between Birmingham and Kings Norton. From Kings Norton Station buses will run along Linden Road, Oak Tree Lane and Bristol Road to stop at NS8 on Smallbrook Queensway. Pershore Road, Sherlock Street, Pershore Street, Dudley Street and High Street will not be served during this time. Customers on Pershore Road between Kings Norton Station and Fordhouse Lane should use the 11A/11C and change to the 45/47 on Walford Road. 
  • 50 - From 7am until approximately 4.30pm this service will divert and stop on Rea Street. Moat Lane and Moor Street Queensway during this time. Customers heading out of Birmingham should use stop DS7 on Rea Street.  
  • 60 & X1/X2 - From 8am until approximately 4.30pm these services will run along Bordesley Middleway, Ring Road, Bath Row and Smallbrook Queensway to stop at TK Maxx. Moor Street Queensway, Park Street and Moat Lane will not be served during this time. 
  • 61/63 - From 8am until approximately 4.30pm these services will stop at Smallbrook Queensway. Moor Street Queensway and Priory Queensway will not be served during this time. Customers heading out of Birmingham should use stop NS8 on Smallbrook Queensway.
  • 66 - From 4am until 7pm this service will be diverted and will not serve Lister Street, Woodcock Street and Jennens Road. Between 4am and approximately 4.30pm buses will load and unload on Newton Street and depart via Corporation Street.
  • 76 - From 4am until 4pm this service will divert between Kings Heath and Selly Oak. Buses will run via Fordhouse Lane, Pershore Road, Linden Road and Bristol Road where the normal line of route will resume after Dawlish Road. Dads Lane, Dogpool Lane, St Stephens Road, Warwards Lane, Raddlebarn Road, Bournbrook Road, Coronation Road and Dawlish Road will not be served during this time. 
  • 80 - From the start of service until approximately 4.30pm this service will stop at Smallbrook Queensway. The markets will not be served during this time. Customers heading out of Birmingham should use stop NS9 on Smallbrook Queensway. 
  • 82/87 - From the start of service until approximately 4.30pm these services will divert from Sand Pits via Great Charles Street, stopping at Snow Hill and then continuing to Colmore Row. Smallbrook Queensway, Moor Street Queensway and Priory Queensway will not be served during this time. Customers should use stop SH3 on Colmore Row or HH1 on Holloway Head. 
  • 94/95 - From 4am until 7pm these services will not serve Jennes Road. Between 4am and approximately 4.30pm buses will load and unload on Newton Street and depart via Corporation Street. 
  • 97 - From 7am until approximately 4.30pm this service will divert and terminate at Rea Street. Moat Lane and Moor Street Queensway will not be served during this time. Customers should use stop DS7 on Rea Street.
  • X12/X13 -  From the start of service until approximately 7.30pm these services  will divert towards Birmingham using Aston Expressway. Buses will load and unload in Newton Street and depart via Corporation Street.
  • X21/X22 - From 7am until approximately 4.30pm these services will terminate on Smallbrook Queensway. Moor Street Queensway or Priory Queensway will not be served during this time. Customers should use stop NS9 on Smallbrook Queensway.
